Memorial Day

Memorial Day
The first half of the day I worked in the kitchen at Life Action.  For the second half we had Nate, Ollyce and Mark over for dinner.  We made shish kabobs...such colorful foods to take pictures of!

Silence

If you are wondering why I've not posted for a while it is because I have been a bit too busy.  Actually I've just been out of town and to LA for the past week and a half.  Friday we went down to visit friends and on Tuesday we left with some friends to go to a lymes doctor in Missouri.  We had a lot of fun, even though we were going for doctor reasons.   We laughed a lot, went swimming, ate ice cream, climbed on tires, went swinging, went to doctor offices, went shopping, and lived through a couple storms (one which included a tornado).

The morning of the doctor appointments we had time to kill, so we decided to go to a park.  This park was a minute or two from our hotel and bunches of fun!
It had these super neat tires that we climbed on.

Haha! Finally someone who is taller than me! ;)

The clouds after the tornado/storm were absolutely gorgeous!  They were even prettier than this, however we didn't have the camera during that time.

This is all for now.  I'm sorry to say that I've not taken any good pictures for so very long! :(

Oh, and Happy Memorial Day!

Not My Will, But Thine

Lord, I give my own plans and purposes, all my own desires and hopes, and accept Thy will for my life.

I give myself, my life, my all utterly to Thee to be Thine forever.

Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit.

Use me as Thou wilt, send me where Thou wilt, work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, now and forever." - Betty Scott Stam

A prayer I would love to pray.  But I am not sure if I honestly could.  At first I'd say, "Yes! Yes!".  But when I sit down and think about it, could I - would I completely surrender my life?  Really?

Just something I'm thinking and praying about.

Paths and Streams - and what God has to say about them.

"Hold up my goings in thy paths,
that my footsteps slip not." - Psalm 17:5

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6

"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." - Psalm 42:1

One Ordinary Person

"Oh LORD, I am not eloquent..."

"Who has made man's mouth?..have not I,the
LORD? Now therefore,go...and I will teach you."
- Exodus 4:10-12

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"When you believe that nothing significant can happen through you,  you have said more about your belief in God than you have said about yourself.  You have said that God is not capable of doing anything significant through you.  The truth is, He is able to do anything He pleases with one ordinary person fully concentrated to Him." - Henry Blackaby
Green {verde}
The theme for Happy Monday is "green", so I thought I'd just do another "color" post.  Of course, it is blooming green outside so half are of leaves/grass. :)  Click here to see more "color posts".
This was taken after the hail storm when there were plenty of rain drops covering everything.
These next two pictures were taken before one of my bike rides.  Walking past the flower bed with camera in hand, I couldn't help stop when I saw all the dew.
I love these dandelions!! And the bokeh!
(I'm putting this one in the photo challenge)
Salt and pepper shakers in green glass
These next pictures are all of Heather's things.  I didn't have anything interesting that was green.
That's it!  Do you have a favorite?
Mother's Day
Our LORD left an example
for all whose parents are still living. He honored His mother. His last thought was to make suitable provision for the one from whom He derived His human nature.
"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said, 'Woman, behold, your son!'  Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, you mother!'" - John 19:26-27
Morning Bike Rides
Nearly every morning I ride my bike down this trail.  It seems that each morning it gets prettier and prettier.  I wish the camera could have captured the beauty that I saw, but it really didn't do its justice.  Now I just can't wait until the trees are covered with leaves!
Here are some of the wildflowers near the end of the trail.
Yes, my bike.  I took a picture of my bike.
 Trillions of trilliums on the trail next to the one I was on.
Ok not quite trillions.
It really was so much more beautiful than it looks on here. Of course, it's not the same without the sounds and smells to go along with it!
Numbers 14:18
"The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression..."
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9
Diving Gannets
This is completely random - I know. But we watched this video in Marine Biology the other day and I thought it was really cool! I was telling my parents about it, and we decided to see if there were any videos of gannets diving on the internet - and I found a small portion of the same video that we had watched.
You must agree that it is so cool!
Happy Monday - Flowers
Is it really Monday? It doesn't really feel like it.
Goats, Dogs and Dandelions
My brother and his wife are house-sitting for a family from church.  They have a small farm of goats, chickens, dogs and cats.  We went over there for lunch on Sunday.  (Mom took these pictures.)
Aren't they sweet?  This dog was so gentle and kind!
I made a dandelion chain and wrapped it around his neck.
He was so cute!  :D
