If You're Wondering Where God Went...
"Jesus Christ reveals Himself to those who follow in His steps. He draws near to those who build their entire lives around His pattern. If we feel far away from Him, it is very likely that we aren't truly building our entire existence around Him; that we are living far more for self than for the glory of His name." -Leslie Ludy

Photoshoot with Heather
Heather was ever so willing to be my model, this past Saturday. :) We went downtown (we were planning on going to the beach, but a storm was coming and we decided not to walk all the way down there just to walk all the way back up when it started raining) and I had a glorious time snapping pictures. I don't take many portraits, if you didn't know that already. But this time was so fun, and very good practice. :)
If you know Heather, you know she likes making many faces, especially when around children. :)
We walked through the farmer's market and snapped a few random pictures there.
We stopped by an ally and took some pictures there...allies make for great backgrounds/props.
So, what do you think? Which is your favorite/s?

Summer Reading
I've been enjoying the sunshine lately by sitting on the back deck reading "Set-Apart Femininity" by Leslie Ludy.
When I read I take my journal with me, so that I might write anything down that I want to remember.
Be sure to know that I will be sharing some quotes with you, as I already have done in my last post. These books by Leslie Ludy are very good books, and if you have not read them, I really encourage you to! I do enjoy reading them. :)

The Right Focus
"He must increase, but I must decrease." - John 3:30
"It is a tremendous freedom to get rid of all self-consideration and learn to care about only one thing - the relationship between Christ and ourselves." - Oswald Chambers
~~~
Remember when I said that I was trying to keep my focus on Him (in this post) and rely on His strength. Well, I am still working on this, for I can't seem to keep my focus on anything but myself. :(
God is awesome and, why I ever turn my eyes away is beyond me!
A Trip to the Corn Field
Last week was Spanish camp at Maranatha college. I had a wonderful time there, and didn't want to come home. :) One of the things we did was hike around Devils Lake. The hike was tiring but the view made it worth it. As you can see, we did a great deal of climbing UP. :)
So this is what you see while standing in our drive way looking out to the road. I was so excited to see that they had planted corn, and I had fun watching it grow. I only got around to taking pictures today.
| Ok - I seriously did not know that corn roots looked like this!! Even after working for a whole month in corn fields a couple years ago. |
I was trying to get creative here...can you tell?
These wildflowers were along our side of the road...never noticed them before, but they were really pretty.
